After my mother received a diagnosis of mixed dementia in 2021 we were both a bit all at sea wondering how the future would unfold.  I did not want her to lose her sense of fun and withdraw from all she loved to do.  We were so fortunate to find ‘Together in Sound’ based in Saffron Walden

Every Friday we would go along for 90 mins enjoying a cup of tea surrounded by like minded people.  Claire would then take us into the music room to sing Welcome to my World amongst many others and encourage us to play the drums or xylophone giving us total free expression. Sometimes we would do a Show and Tell and Mom would take a dress or hat in she had made to share her passion for dress designing.
At the end of term we would put on a concert at Saffron Hall and on one occasion King Charles harpist turned up for us to listen to.
We both formed so many friendships through this wonderful charity and it was a joy for Mom to be part of.  You only have to go on the website http://www.saffonhall.com/togetherinsound  to see a picture of my beautiful mother as cover girl having so much fun!
