Ms Kitty Bennett

Kitty was born in Appleton, Wisconsin in February 1954, as the youngest of three daughters. Her life was full of adventures that took her from the Midwest to the Philippines, to New York (upstate and NYC), Nantucket (with her late sister, Era) and many others. 
 
She settled for many years in Madison, Wisconsin, with her longtime partner David Knoll before moving to the UK four years ago after David’s death from MND. 
 
During her life she also enjoyed work visits to French vineyards, her good friends’ chateau in France, family holidays to Cape Cod, Portugal and the BVI and any chance to visit the seaside - recently through trips to Norfolk with her grandchildren. 
 
After a degree in Art History and Geography, Kitty had a long and successful career in wine, including owning her own import and distribution business called “Prima”. Here in Cambridge, she greatly enjoyed her role and the team at Grape Britannia - having taken on the new challenge of learning about English wines. 
 
The final four years of her life were spent very happily - surrounded by her daughter Samantha, son-in-law Will and grandchildren Eddie (5y) and Abbie (1y). They have now adopted her treasured cat, Vincent. She is also survived by her older sister Susie and her daughter, Nina. 
Her death very shortly and tragically followed a metastatic cancer diagnosis. Donations gratefully received towards CRUK’s research into curing this terrible disease.

Sweet Kitty-kat. I'm so glad you made it to the UK and had the chance to hug Eddie and Abigail every single day. I will miss you very much but will always remember: your beautiful eyes, your exuberant laugh when we gave Minuit a flea bath, our late evening lilac adventures, the wonderful aroma of baking bread, the best scrambled eggs and quiche ever, crazy busy graduation weekends, and so much more. My deepest condolences to Samantha and Will and the kiddos and family. May your memory be a blessing.

Sending deepest condolences from everyone at Ease Pilates studio. Kitty was an absolute pleasure to teach in every class. She loved her Pilates and I will always remember her as fun, respectful and with a can-do attitude, even though her knees sometimes disagreed! She will be greatly missed by us all. Donated with love in memory of a wonderful client and friend.
