Messages of condolence

What a wonderful addition to this world you were. Not just my little brother but my buddie and partner in having fun crime. A big Ben shaped hole has been left behind but you have also left a amazing legacy in the many lives you touched.

Mr & Mrs Samantha & Simon Bouzan (Holroyd)

Ben, the most gorgeous person inside and out. Thank you for teaching Molly to play the cornet, thank you for the laughs, the curry’s, the beers and wines, for always saying yes to depping on any instrument (except trombone 🤣), thank you for the music (cheese!) and for your friendship. We will raise a glass when we do the NC500 in September inspired by your trips. You lived life to the full, and now you can rest. Lisa, Mark and Molly x

Mrs Lisa HUTTLESTONE

Ben, May your next journey be as fun as the second door in the changing room of the costume shop, along from 52 Festive Road. Knowing you lit up my late teenage years at NYO and JRAM with fun, laughter and memories which I'll never forget. While Thursday was very sad, it was also enormously uplifting to see hundreds of people who were lucky to have met you. Rest in Peace.

Mr Jamie Stuttard

My Dearest Ben, If love could have saved you, you would have lived forever. Thank you for all the memories, life will never be the same again! Love you always xxx

Dear Ben, you were a first class musician bringing pleasure to many. More than this you were a wonderful, caring step brother to my children. I thank you with all my heart.

Jude Short

Ben, I’ll always remember you laughing and full of happiness. My favourite memory will forever be that very drunken Christmas Eve, following you and the band around the Royston pubs together. It truly was a pleasure knowing you. Kerry and Richard

Miss Kerry Page

It was so cruel that Ben was taken away from us so young. We met at work and were initially colleagues, but became good friends and shared many laughs over beers, curries, Snooker, golf and enjoyed some lovely moments at the Proms together. His attitude to having cancer was utterly brilliant and I wish I could have a minute amount of his strength and positivity if I ever suffer from this horrible disease myself. Rest in peace Ben and I hope you’ve got some loud low brass music playing on repeat somewhere.

Mr David Bourne

We will miss you so much Ben! I can’t believe we don’t get to sit together anymore and play our trombones. Helen xx

Dr Helen Barefoot

So sorry Ben. Seems like only yesterday we were chatting about school, music, shooting, Cambridge, Bassingbourn etc. Will very much miss our catch ups old boy. Until we meet again old friend xx

Mr Nick Ackerman

Heartbroken that you’re gone, but so thankful for so many wonderful and happy memories. Sleep well, lovely Ben. I will miss you terribly xxx “T’is better to have loved and lost, than never to have loved at all”

Ms Mary Smith

Words cannot do this justice. You're the best godcousin I ever had and noone will ever fill your shoes - in any way. I'll never forget our firsts... there were so many. So many fab memories to thank you for. Life has been a bettle in many ways, but you have shown everyone how to smile and laugh your way through the toughest times. Rest easy my friend xxx

Ms Kate Bowman

You will be missed so much Ben. It’s always harder for the loved ones left behind.

Ms Jane Prendergast

Ben, thankyou for the fun and laughs over so many years. I'm sorry I can't be there in person to say goodbye.
