Mr David Thear

Donations can be made in memory of David to the U3AC - an organisation which helped shape and enhance David’s life after the sad loss of Katie in 2010.

The University of the Third Age in Cambridge (U3AC) is an independent Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO), which organises educational, social and fitness activities for people who are not or no longer in full-time employment.

David signed up for courses ranging from birdsong to Ancient Greek history to table tennis. However, it was the courses in short story writing and poetry that he loved best. After several years, David also become a tutor, instilling his love of poetry into others in his Starting to Write Poetry Course, which ran for several years.

David was often on the park & ride bus to Cambridge three or more times a week for his U3A commitments and we know he would be delighted that donations in his memory are helping others to open new doors to learning as well as make friends in later life.

Matthew, Helen, Gwilym & family.

There will be a livestream of David's service available for those unable to attend.
