I have had the privilege, as a Cambridge Library at Home volunteer, to visit Norman every month for the last three years. We not only discussed books, but he also shared so many memories, some poignant, many humorous, from his long life. We also played Scrabble (he usually won!), the last game being just a week before he died. A special person - may he rest in peace.
Mrs Rosie Zanders
I have great memories of socialising with Norman playing Badmington on a Tuesday evening many years ago enjoying his very dry wit that some of us were on the receiving end but in the best possible way ..
Mr Martin Oakes
Sending heartfelt condolences to Norman’s family. Your Father will be fondly remembered. He was a wonderful man and true friend.

I have very fond memories of chatting with Norman about his Banking days and his life in Barkingside. I used to bring him fresh eggs when he lived in Frinton from my neighbour who had chickens. Norman was always delighted if he got an egg with a double yolk!

My time teaching at Uphall School was the happiest time of all my teaching career.
I learnt so much from Norman and have always been very fond of him.
