Robert (Rob) Ashby Searles
Of Meldreth passed away peacefully in Addenbrooke’s Hospital on Tuesday 10th March 2026 aged 84 years.
He will be very much missed by wife Jan, daughters Kirsty, Heather & Lucy, sons-in-law, nine grandchildren and sister Frances & family.
He was predeceased by wife Sandra who passed away in 2018.
The Thanksgiving service will be held at Holy Trinity Church, Meldreth at 3.30pm on Tuesday 31st March following a family cremation service.
Family flowers only please - donations can be made through Newlings towards Parkinson’s UK and Active with Parkinsons Cambridge (AWPC).
Lorne and Sharon were saddened by the passing of Rob. He will be remembered in Meldreth by the contribution he made to Johnson Matthey and to his dedication to helping in the local community. Whilst we only knew Rob in his wheelchair days, he was great company on social activities. We all marvelled at his continued good spirits to which Jan contributed so graciously.
