A pleasure and privilege to have known Nick. The ceremony today was a wonderful send-off from Davina and family and brought back happy memories, especially the amazing ‘hangi’ parties cooking lamb in a pit.

It was with great sadness that we learned of the passing of dear Nick. Our heartfelt condolences reach out to Davina, daughters Charlotte and Tamsin and their partners, and also to the wider family. Nick was a very special man with an impressive reserve of talents. We have fond memories of sharing family events, attending superbly hosted celebrations and even experiencing jaunts togther at St Briavels Castle and in France. Nick's donated peach sapling thrives in our garden - a constant and quiet reminder. Our thoughts are with you and yours. Paul and Barbara Smith, Graig Penllyn, South Wales.

Enjoyed many chats with Nick over the years about walking and sometimes about work too. My sincere condolences to Davina and family. Rest In Peace Nick.

Nick and Davina have been friends for decades and Nick presiding over the cooking in the fire-pit will be an abiding memory of the many wonderful parties we have attended over the years! Chris and Sue
Mr Chris Coffin Coffin and Dr Sue Colwell
The plants Nick gave me for my difficult back garden are thriving. My vegetables were never as adventurous, or as successful, as his though! And that's aside from the dry comments that enlivened wirk days.

Nick, yours was a life well-lived. Good friend, endless source of knowledge on gardening and obscure, rare vegetables. Shared enthusiasm for bare feet. Sorry we are overseas for the funeral. We will think of our many happy memories with you and Davina, remember the excellent parties, and toast you. Paul and Liz Workman
Professor Paul Workman
