"Roger Moreton

15th January 1942  17th September 2025

Roger is much missed by his brother and sister and by many friends. We will remember Roger for his skill as a scientist; for his love of the natural world; for the pleasure he took in walking and his contribution, together with his wife, Janet, as members of the Ramblers’ Association, to developing Cambridgeshire footpaths.

If you would like to make a charitable donation in Roger's memory please choose either the Woodland Trust or the Wesley Methodist Church."

Messages of condolence

Thank you Roger for all your efforts, together with Janet, in keeping Cambridgeshire's footpaths open. I have many happy memories of rambles with you and greatly admire the way in which you have coped with life in recent years. May you rest in peace and rise in glory.

Mrs Joye Rosenstiel

In very fond memory of a wonderful man who, with his wife Janet, did so much for public access in Cambridgeshire over the many years as Joint Secretary of the South Cambridgeshire. Ramblers’ Group. I shall never forget Roger’s steadfastness under fierce cross-examination at inquiry for (successful) claimed footpaths.

Mrs Camilla Rhodes

I am sad to have lost a dear friend of over sixty years, but take comfort that his sufferings are at an end and that he will be with his beloved Janet. Farewell, Roger.

Mr Adrian Conrad

Paul and Judith wish Ginnie and Tim good memories of Roger.

Mr & Mrs Judith and Paul Littman

Appreciate all that Geoff and I learnt from Roger and Janet. Glad to have helped encourage them back into Church attendance. Very much a give and take friendship.

Mrs Janet Pake

When we met, over 40 years ago, my life changed. Thank you Roger. I will remember you forever, perhaps on a footpath, perhaps on a footbridge, perhaps by a stile, perhaps by a waymark and always with gratitude for what you and Janet have done to give all of us access to the beautiful Cambridgeshire countryside.

Mr Alan Parks
