As we remember and celebrate Shizue Brough, known to many as Cecilia,
we kindly ask that anyone who wishes to make a contribution consider donating to
the Multiple System Atrophy (MSA) Trust.

Multiple System Atrophy (MSA) is a rare neurological disease with no known cause or cure,
which Cecilia was unfortunately diagnosed with.
The MSA Trust was a source of great support to us following her diagnosis,
and we would like donations to be made to this charity
in order that they can continue to support others affected by the condition,
and to fund further research into the disease.

Thank you for your kind generosity.

Messages of condolence

In memory of my dear friend, Cecilia - Ouma-chan, as I fondly called her. We shared a bond of friendship that spanned 60 years—an extraordinary gift I will forever treasure.
I still remember the sound of her piano echoing through our high school auditorium. I wish I could hear it once more. Her presence in my life was immense.
She was caring, resilient, generous in spirit, and filled with a passion for life—each of these qualities so rare, so precious. May she rest in peace, knowing how deeply she was loved and how greatly she will be missed. Non-chan

I am deeply saddened by the passing of Shizue. She was a remarkable presence in my life — someone I looked up to with great respect and gratitude. Thanks to her, I was able to embark on many meaningful adventures that shaped who I am today. Her wisdom, warmth, and quiet strength supported me through many moments, and I learned so much simply by observing the grace and dignity with which she lived her life. As a cherished friend of my mother and a guiding presence for me, Shizue was a true inspiration — a woman of depth, compassion, and integrity. I hold countless treasured memories of the time we shared, and I will carry them with me always. With heartfelt gratitude and deepest respect.

Happy family memories of beautiful Cecilia, a much loved sister-in-law who did not deserve such a cruel illness at this stage in her life. The legacy she leaves in her beautiful daughters, Cathy and Vicky and her granddaughters will live on as a testimony of her love, kindness and generosity of spirit. Peter and Anthea
