Mr Nicholas Oliver Bishop

Just over 4 years ago Nick was diagnosed with Stage 4 prostate cancer.  Unfortunately, a cure was not possible for him, but during those 4 years he continued to make people aware of the sometimes hidden danger and the importance to get checked.  Everyone knows people who have been affected with cancer if not themselves directly.   Nick was not only was affected himself but also Sharon has been through Breast Cancer in recent times.  Which is why we choose Cancer Research UK and not specifically Prostrate Cancer charity.  (Although if you would like to donate to that specifically, Nick wouldn’t mind!)

Nick’s wish was to go to Arthur Rank Hospice when the time came.  Although he was only there for a few hours, the staff were incredible.  Nothing was too much trouble and everyone was so kind, considerate, thoughtful and compassionate.

Nick attended one of the clinics that are also run on the premises during his treatment.  It was a nice change from all the other appointments at hospital.

Nick filled our days with an incredible presence, his humour was unique, but most definitely put a smile on your face. I have received many words of condolences, support and wishes from across the entire business. Nick built friendships and business relationships across the business with ease, nothing was ever too much trouble and was a key member of my team and will be greatly missed. I personally feel honoured to have had a chance to work with Nick. Paul Bathurst, on behalf of Nick's team, friends, and colleagues at Hotel Chocolat.
