Beryl was born in Croydon in 1934 and lived there until she was 8 years old, when the family were moved to Bristol to avoid the bombing during the war, she lived there with her 3 brothers and 3 sisters. She left school at the age of 15 and got a job in a ladies dress shop as a seamstress, she also worked in a shoe shop and was the breakfast Chef at the Rose & Crown.
She married her Husband Harry in 1950, a day after her 16th birthday. They have 7 children, 32 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren. During there marriage they enjoyed caravan holidays in Bognor, music and dancing.
The hospice offers a holistic and family-centred approach to care ensuring that children, young people and their families' needs are met, whether physical, emotional, social or spiritual.
Care can be delivered in the family home, at hospital, in the community, at one of the three hospices, or a combination of all three, depending on the family's and child’s preference
