Mavis passed away peacefully on the 12th May 2024, aged 96 years.
She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Donations in memory of Mavis are welcomed for the RSPB and the RNLI.
Both charities were close to Mavis' heart; reflecting her love of birds and nature, alongside the life-saving work carried out by the lifeboat service.
Our birds and wildlife are increasingly vulnerable in a rapidly-changing world. The RSPB aims to create bigger, better, more joined-up spaces for nature to save our wildlife, and our shared home.

So many memories Mavis!
I shall be wearing dull clothes tomorrow to remind me of the times you blew a fuse because another birdwatcher had turned up in something bright. ‘Don’t they know they are supposed to be innocuous’ you fumed. In my heart I shall be wearing a rainbow to celebrate you.
Mrs Ann Terry
